The Cold War Galleries explore conflicts from the end of the Second World War to the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

The galleries take visitors on a journey through Australia’s involvement in major conflicts including the Korean War, Vietnam War, Malayan Emergency and Indonesian Confrontation.

New displays explore National Service, our first peacekeeping operation in 1947, the blockade of Berlin, impacts on Korean civilians, Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) and British atomic testing in Australia.
