Soldier’s kit, First World War (1914)

Australian Imperial Force (AIF) Order No. 2 (26 August 1914) prescribed the uniform, kit, and necessaries to be issued to each member of the AIF.

The following transcript of AIF Order No. 2 is published for information:

10.(i) The authorized scale of issue of uniform, kit, and necessaries for the Australian Imperial Force is shown in the Table beneath. Requisitions on the Ordnance Department are to be submitted for unit requirements, in accordance with paragraph 14, Australian Imperial Force Orders No. 1, of 19th August 1917.
