Description

Looking at pieces of mangled iron on the deck of the cruiser HMAS Sydney II are an Egyptian engineer and Warrant Engineer Frederick William Reville RAN (right). Damage to the ship was sustained during action off Cape Spada, Crete, against the Italian vessel Bartolomeo Colleoni. Reville was killed in action when HMAS Sydney was sunk after the action with the German raider Kormoran in the Indian Ocean on 20 November 1941.
