Description
When ground gave way beneath this tank during the attack on Sattelberg it balanced precariously on the edge of a thirty foot drop. Australian troops are getting the tank back to firm ground. Matilda tanks were used to blast Japanese positions in the village. In the foreground a Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) officer hands out coffee, using 'silver mugs' made from condensed milk tins.
