The Kingdom of the Netherlands representative, Admiral Conrad Helfrich signs the surrender document on board USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay in the presence of both Allied and Japanese representatives. General Douglas MacArthur is shown explaining a point to Admiral Helfrich. Allied delegations are lined up behind their delegation leader waiting their turn to sign the surrender document.
