Brisbane, Qld. 18 December 1941. Building a brick screen to protect a building. With the outbreak of the war in the Pacific the work of air raid precautions was accelerated in all States. In the cities plate glass was removed, display windows were boarded up and doorways and windows protected by brick screens or sandbags.
