Studio portrait of J/22085 Pilot Officer (PO) Grant Leroy Hall, RCAF, aged 21 years. PO Hall was attached to 32 Operational Training Unit based at RCAF Base Patricia Bay, British Colombia, and was killed in a flying accident on 14 March 1943, when the aircraft in which he was flying crashed into Saanich Inlet, north-west of Victoria, British Colombia. The aircraft involved in the accident was a Handley Page Hampden Mk 1 bomber, serial number P5433. Also killed in the same accident were 420343 PO Allan William John Hunt, RAAF, 414416 PO Reginald Keith Manttan, RAAF and R/129632 Sergeant Howard Shurvin Piercy, RCAF. PO Hall is buried in Ottawa Memorial Cemetery.
