Officers of all the units which arrived in Crete from Greece await the arrival of Major General Sir Bernard C Freyberg, VC, KCB, KBE, CMG, DSO, Commander in Chief, 2nd New Zealand expeditionary force, who is to address them. Major General Sir Bernard Freyberg had taken over the command of the defences of Crete under order from General Sir Archibald Wavell, GCB, CMG, MC, on the 29th April.
