Darwin, NT. August 1942. US Airman Lieutenant G. F. Drake of Wilconette, Illinios, just after he having parachuted from his aircraft and been rescued by an air-sea rescue unit. Before this incident he had shot down one Japanese bomber and a probable second during a raid on Darwin. He appears happy but dishevelled.
