Description
Palmerston, NT. 20 September 1999. Lieutenant (Lt) Berry, 5th/7th Battalion (Mechanised), The Royal Australian Regiment (5/7RAR) talking to an unidentified Captain in the Robertson Barracks coumpound. Other members of 3RAR are formed up in the background after the official party have left after bidding farewell to the troops prior to their departure to join the International Force for East Timor (Interfet). Note Lt Berry is carrying a Camelbak water bladder over his shoulder, which many of the other soldiers were also carrying, the water bladder has a tube allowing the soldier to drink.
