Darwin, NT. 23 September 1999. French troops preparing pallets of material in a hangar at Darwin RAAF Base for air drop to the troops of the International Force for East Timor (Interfet). To the right and in the background are boxes of supplies packed onto steel air transportable pallets, secured with webbing, ready to be loaded into C130 aircraft. Note the impact absorbing blocks on the bottom of the pallets.
