Description
Dead soldiers on the left flank of the Australian position in the German 2nd line which was held by the 32nd Battalion until dawn of the 20 July 1916 during the Battle of Fleurbaix, which took place on 19 July 1916 and 20 July 1916. This image is one of a sequence taken by an unknown German officer. They were given to Captain C Mills 31st Battalion AIF, after the Armistice in 1919. The latter had been severly wounded in action and captured on or about the 20th of July.
