Description
Shrapnel Gully, taken from Pope's Hill, looking down onto the saps which were dug to protect the troops from snipers when coming to and from the beach. A sandbag traverse is at the bottom of the valley at the foot of Steele's Post, near where General Bridges was killed. Plugge's Plateau is in the centre ground and the sea is in the distance.
