Studio portrait of 6765 Staff Sergeant Major (SSgt Maj) Edward Fisher, 19th Reinforcements, 21st Battalion, of Essendon, Vic, agd 38 years. SSgt Maj Fisher enlisted on 19 July 1916 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ascanius on 11 May 1917. He returned to Australia on 12 June 1919. He is one of eight brothers who joined the AIF.
