Major General James Legge
Description
Portrait of Major General (later Lieutenant General) James Gordon Legge, of the 1st Australian Imperial Force, Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB), Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG). Major General Legge organised the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force (AN&MEF), Commanding 1st Division Australian Infantry Force, and later 2nd Division Australian Infantry Force, on the Western Front.
