Getting the 3-tonner ashore at Toko
Description
Whilst the Australian Landing Craft were invaluable for conveying personnel and equipment in this area, the heavy surf often created a great deal of trouble. In this case the vehicle, a 3-ton truck, stalled when it's wheels were just off the ramp and it became necessary to use a tractor to drag it ashore. The two hawsers held by natives help to steady the barge whilst a third party drag out a towline to attach it to the front of the truck.
