20 M.M.H.M.G. means 20 mm. heavy machine gun, that is, the Oerlikon. H.M.A.M.L. stands for His Majesty's Australian Motor Launch. The left figure in the drawing has been identified as R.M.J. Stutsel (Jack Stutsel) by his grandson Matthew Stutsel (23 July 1999). Jack Stutsel's name was mispelt in the services as `Stutsell'. Stutsel served from 1939-1946 in all theatres; he was seconded to the Royal Navy. He came into the services as a submarine detector but operated guns on the ships.
