Machine gun posts, in jungle, raised on piles above level of flood waters of Maiwara River
Description
The machine gun posts are made of a bamboo structure and have palm leaves creating roofs. Dargie noted, "These weapons had a field of fire covering the approaches to the nearby river. However, this river frequently flooded and beacuase of this, the posts had to be raised on piles some five and six feet high above the grounds".
