Fountain and church near Kozani
Description
This is a small pencil sketch, with a hand drawn border, featuring a fountain and church. Outside the border on the sheet of paper is a rough, incomplete sketch of a woman carrying two buckets on a rod across her shoulders. The village of Kozani was, in the early stages of the campaign in Greece, the venue of important conferences between the Commanders of the Greek, British, Australian and New Zealand forces. Later it was a vital road junction for the withdrawal of the British forces.
