Description
In the Official War History, the town of Iraklion is referred to as Heraklion. Bitter fighting took place across this scene when the German paratroops invading Crete in May 1941, were met by the 14th (British) Infantry Brigade Group to which were attached the 2/4th Australian Infantry Battalion.
