The pilot of the pictured aircraft was "Gogs" Manning of No 6 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force. The ship was again hit by the following plane and finally burned out and sank. 6 Squadron's score at this date exclusive of the Seaplane Tender: one destroyer, one submarine off Sydney, one wireless ship; also, general reconnaissance, dropping of supplies, rescue work, bombing of sea and land targets by day and night.
