Description
Troops of 7th Australian Division aboard U.S.S Jefferson Davis en route from the Australian mainland to Morotai, the first stage of the journey to Balikpapan for the amphibious assault landing operation "OBOE TWO". Troops were crammed onto all manner of ships, making their own amusement to pass away the monotony of the two or three weeks at sea in uncomfortable conditioners. In this picture, troops can be seen playing cards in the for'ard hold of the ship.
