Description
A soldier rides an emaciated horse, which is weighed down by a rock tied to its tail. The horse has two bandaged legs and appear to be moving at speed. They ride in the direction of a sign posted on the top of a pile of boulders that points 'TO FRANCE'.
This drawing is attributed to Louis Vasco - the artist's given name was Vasco Loureiro but he enlisted as Louis Vasco and has signed his name 'Vasco', 'Spr Vasco'.
