Description
Abdul, an Arab pony captured from the Turks by the Australian Light Horse.
A favourite of Frank Hurley's, he wrote about riding Abdul in his diary on 12 January 1918, "Abdul has become a great friend and is a capture from the Turks at Beersheba. He is one of the most beautiful little creatures I have ever set eyes on: a perfect model of Arab breed and blood."
