Description
This altar stone was placed on the site of the old Christian altar, of the 4th century. The Union Jack shown in the picture, was carried all through Palestine, and Syria, by the Camel Corps, and the field ambulance of the 5th Australian Light Horse Brigade. Standing next to the altar are Chaplain C L Riley, and Private (Reverend) A S Taylor.
