Several Egyptian members of the camel corps relaxing in a village with two of their animals. Note the rifle strapped to each of the camels. An Imperial Camel Corps, comprising 18 companies, was created in late 1916. Its personnel came from many countries of the British Empire and included 142 Egyptians.
