Description

The transport SS Armadale (A26), which was part of the first Australian convoy, leaving Melbourne docks to proceed to the rendezvous off King George's Sound on the coast of Western Australia. The convoy consisted of 28 transports, two of which joined it near Fremantle. There were also ten New Zealand transports, which steamed in two lines behind the Australian ships.
