An Egyptian ambulance train standing at the railway station in the Egyptian capital. Note the red crescent painted on the side of the carriage. Sick and wounded men who travelled from the Gallipoli Peninsula to Alexandria aboard hospital ships were conveyed in these trains to Cairo, where the hospitals were located.
