Studio portrait of 2328 Private (Pte) Francis Andrew Armstrong, 5th Reinforcements, 24th Battalion, of Gippsland, Vic. Pte Armstrong enlisted on 7 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Osterley on 29 September 1915. He returned to Australia on 27 September 1917 as a member of the 59th Battalion.
