Two officers on horseback at Spencer Street Railway Station. One of them is Brigadier General Walter Ramsey McNicoll, DSO (commanding 10th Infantry Brigade). Also pictured are numerous hansom cabs and several horse drawn vehicles carrying a variety of goods. At the time reinforcements were marching through Melbourne to embark at Port Melbourne.
