Description
Studio portrait of 2101 Private (Pte) William Angus, 4th Reinforcements, 21st Battalion, of Wonthaggi, Vic. Pte Angus enlisted on 22 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Hororata on 27 September 1915. He was killed in action 26 August 1916 at Pozieres, France. His step brother, 1456 Pte Charles 'Bert' Smith, 1st Battalion, of Lietinna, Tas, was killed in action on 19 May 1915 at Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey.
