Description
Studio portrait of 2361 Private (Pte) Henry Vincent Magee, 5th Reinforcements, 21st Battalion, of South Melbourne, Vic. Pte Magee enlisted on 12 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Osterley on 29 September 1915. He was killed in action on 29 July 1916 at Pozieres, France, aged 21. His brother, 2360 Pte Stephen Henry Joseph Magee, also 5th Reinforcements, 21st Battalion, was killed in action on 3 May 1917 at Bullecourt, France, aged 26.
