Description
Studio portrait of two privates named in the index and Thorpe and Treble. Treble is probably 1248 Pte George Treble, D Company, 29th Battalion, of Dunolly, Vic, aged 26. He enlisted on 14 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ascanius on 10 November 1915. Pte Treble was killed in action on 2 March 1917 at Bapaume, France.
