Description
Studio portrait of 3051A Private (Pte) Albert Frank Edward Gay, 10th Reinforcements, 6th Battalion, of Collingwood, Vic. Pte Gay enlisted on 10 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Osterley on 29 September 1915. Pte Gay was awarded the Military Medal (MM) on 17 October 1917 (gazetted on 28 January 1918) whilst serving with the 2nd Machine Gun Company. He was wounded in France and died on 6 November 1917 in Belgium.
