An Afghan youth armed with a Russian made AKSU74 rifle in Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan. This photograph was taken by Australian artist and film maker George Gittoes who was in Afghanistan documenting the increasing presence of armaments resulting in a major security problem for the local community. Gittoes has who has extensively documented conflict especially centred on the Middle East, with repeated visits to Israel and Palestine, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
