Description
Studio portrait of 3340 Private (Pte) Alexander Walter McAlpin, 11th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of Ararat, Vic. Prior to his enlistment on 17 July 1915 in the AIF, he served with the 19th Australian Light Horse, Citizens Military Forces. Pte McAlpin embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor on 11 October 1915. He died of wounds on 13 April 1917 in France.
