Description
This First World War British poster printed by Johnson Riddle & Co aims at encouraging men to enlist in the army and help win the war. Consisting only of text this poster has included a quote from Lord Roberts VC which is designed to produce an emotional response from the viewer. In the quote Roberts describes his feelings of intense admiration and respect for the soldiers, with the last line of the poster posing the question to the viewer "can you read this unmoved?".
