Description
Studio portrait of two brothers. Left to right: 2736 Private (Pte) Alexander Edward Levings, enlisted on 10 July 1915, aged 18; and 2327 Pte Norman James Levings, enlisted on 8 July 1915, aged 21, both of Cobram, Vic. Both men embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Moldavia on 5 October 1915 as members of the 6th Reinforcements, 21st Battalion. Pte Alexander Levings was killed in action on 18 August 1916 at Pozieres, France, whilst serving with the 7th Battalion. Pte Norman Levings returned to Australia on 4 May 1917 as a member of the 7th Battalion. See also DA11015 and DA11016.
