Description
Studio portrait of 3428 Private (Pte) Victor Alfred Thompson, 11th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of Albert Park, Vic. Pte Thompson enlisted on 10 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor on 11 October 1915. He died of wounds on 8 May 1917 in France. Note that he is wearing painted corporal's strips that he may have received in training camp.
