Description
Photograph of a sketch of the mosaic pavement at Shellal, reproduced from sketches made on the spot by Captain Martin S Briggs in June 1917. The mosaic was part of the floor of an old Byzantine basilica or church which was built in the time of Justinian the 1st about 561 AD, which was discovered by the 2nd Australian Light Horse Brigade at Shellal, on the Wady Ghuzze, in Palestine on 23 April 1917.
