Description
An informal portrait of General J R Royston DSO CMG, who commanded the 12th Light Horse Regiment in 1916. He then took over the 2nd Light Horse Brigade at Romani during General Ryrie's absence and later the 3rd Light Horse Brigade. A South African, he formed Royston's Horse during the Zulu Rebellion in 1906. This is one half of a stereo image. The full image is held at A02910A.
