Description
Studio portrait of either: 3020 Private (Pte) Robert Christie, 10th Reinforcements, 7th Battalion, of Eaglehawk, Vic, aged 21; or 3480 Pte Robert Christie, 8th Reinforcements, 21st Battalion, of Ninneella, Vic, aged 23. 3020 Pte Christie enlisted on 23 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Osterley on 29 September 1915. He was killed in action on 19 August 1916 at Pozieres, France. 3480 Pte Christie enlisted on 19 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Demosthenes on 29 December 1915. He died of wounds on 23 May 1918 in France whilst serving with the 57th Battalion.
