Valves For Defence Come First
Description
Australian Second World War poster designed by artist Walter Jardine. The poster highlights the importance of valves and that first priority for their use should be for defence purposes. Valves were an integral part in radio transmitters well into the second half of the twentieth century and hence much demand came from those on the home front for their personal radios, as they would need to be replaced from time-to-time. This poster depicts three different areas in which communication is key: a flight of Supermarine Spitfires, an M3 Lee tank, and a warship.
