Description
Informal group portrait of soldiers standing in the mud in front of a canvas tent. The only soldier identified is 2nd Lieutenant (2nd Lt) William Richard Doolan, 12th Reinforcements, 8th Battalion, of Melbourne, Vic, aged 26 (fourth from left). 2nd Lt Doolan enlisted on 7 April 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ceramic on 23 November 1915. He was killed in action on 18 August 1916 at Pozieres, France. See also P02389.001.
