Studio portrait of Trooper W J Robinson (seated) and Lance Corporal H J Cooke DCM taken prior to their departure for South Africa with the 2nd Battalion, Australian Commonwealth Horse. Both men had previously served in South Africa, Trooper Robinson in the Scottish Horse and Lance Corporal Cook with the Australian Regiment, during which time he was decorated for distinguished service.
