Description
Famous American First World War recruitment poster by James Montgomery Flagg (1877-1960) featuring Uncle Sam, a symbol of America (the unity of State and Nation, as well as white supremacy). He is wearing a top hat decorated with stars, pointing directly at the viewer, (the image is a self-portrait of the artist, James Montgomery Flagg). The design Flagg based on a successful earlier Bristish recruitment poster which featured Lord Kitchener in the same pose.
