Description
Studio portrait of two privates. Identified is 1208 Private Arthur Pollard, D Company, 29th Battalion, of Gunbower, Vic (originally of Westham, London, England). Pte Pollard enlisted on 12 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ascanius on 10 November 1915. He was killed in action on 7 May 1918 in France, and is buried at Corbie Communal Cemetery Extension.
