Description
Studio portrait of 3279 Private (Pte) James Herbert Clegg, 11th Reinforcements, 6th Battalion, of Wandin, Vic. Pte Clegg enlisted on 12 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor on 11 October 1915. He was killed in action on 2 July 1917 at Pozieres, France, whilst serving with the 46th Battalion, and is memorialised at Underhill Farm Cemetery, Ploegsteert, Belgium. See also DA11531.
