Set of painted webbing : Warrant Officer Class 2 L Cunningham, 4RAR (Commando)
Set of Australian Army Disruptive Pattern Camouflage Uniform (DPCU) webbing, hand painted in yellow, brown and grey to match the colours of the 2003 type Disruptive Pattern Desert Uniform (DPDU) uniform. The webbing harness is made of nylon mesh personalised with a variety of pouches attached by a system of plastic screws. The types of pouches used are: a narrow vertical style with a large overlapping flap, retained by a Velcro fastening; larger square pouches with both Velcro and Fastex clip closure; small grenade holders with a press stud fastening; and larger 'universal' pouches secured by a pair of Fastex clips. Pouches are attached on each side of the chest and under the arms. The central back panel of the webbing has a long vertical pouch with zip closures located at the top and centre. The top zip panel of this pouch also has an opening covered by a Velcro fastened flap.
Issued to 239707 WO II Laurie Cunningham, of 4 Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (Commando), for service in Kuwait and Iraq, February - May 2003. Cunningham, who had previously seen service with 6 RAR in East Timor, enlisted in the Australian Army in July 1990.
