The original grave of Captain (Capt) Leslie Richard Hartland, 8th Battalion, killed in action on the Gallipoli Peninsula on 26 July 1915, aged 24 years. Capt Hartland's brother, 1361 Private William Bullen Hartland, 14th Battalion, was also killed in action at Gallipoli on 20 August 1915, aged 19 years. (See also H04034)
